Will Eamon O'Hara be celebrating in his new role? Morgan Treacy/INPHO

Will Eamon O'Hara change his tune on managers now that he is one?

The former Sligo star will manage the 2012 Mayo champions.

FORMER SLIGO STAR Eamon O’Hara has been appointed to his first managerial role taking charge of Ballaghaderreen senior footballers.

O’Hara – who famously used his role as a pundit on The Sunday Game to call for then Sligo manager Kevin Walsh to resign – has been appointed for the 2015 season.

Ballaghaderreen are three-time Mayo senior football champions with their most recent victory coming in 2012.

The club is home to inter-county player Andy Moran and Aussie Rules stars Pearce and Cian Hanley.

The 39-year old – who retired from playing 2014 – follows other former players such as Roscommon’s Shane Curran and Westmeath’s John Keane in swapping their boots for bainisteoir bibs in recent weeks.

As is often the case these days, the club announced Moran’s appointment on Twitter last night.
